Hazooka

My hubby (and many others) have been working on a new website that lets you post video instructions to potential employers. Check it out!! If you (or anyone you know) is looking for a job, send them to this site!! ***....please....***

www.Hazooka.com

Dear friends,

It’s not often that I send a request in an email, but this is important. I have been engaged in the creation and launch of Hazooka, a revolutionary way for job seekers to get in front of future employers.

The announcement of Hazooka's launch on November 4th will be distributed to news media in the top 20 largest US markets. Both print and broadcast media journalists with circulations/viewerships in the millions will view the release, with the potential to include it in their coverage. Employment reporters at The New York Times, USA Today, Wall Street Journal, Washington Post, Fast Company, and the Los Angeles Times, along with some of the nation's most influential bloggers, will be pitched.

The reason for this email is a simple request: If you know anyone who is unemployed, underemployed or just looking for the next job, please let them know about hazooka.com. It’s free and if people can get their video online by or before the press release, they’ll have a lot of people looking at their profile.

I’m also attaching a PDF on how to create your own video that can be passed along as well. Between this and the following two links, job seekers can get all the information they need.

Thanks for your support and help. I know every one of us has family and friends that are jobless right now. This is something that can help them.

Gopher Faces

A few weeks ago, Tanner came home from school and in a nonchalant sort-of way, asks me what 'detention' meant. Great. Of course, my interest was peaked, so I asked him where he had heard that word. He tells me that his music teacher had said it during their class that day. After a little more prodding, he tells me that he and one of his little buddies had been making gopher faces during class. Lovely. What an appropriate thing to be doing during music class -- making gopher faces. When I asked him why he had been making faces, he says that he didn't like the songs they were singing. Oh, ok...so, he was bored and decided to be disrespectful and make gopher faces at his teacher. Niiice. Well, come to find out, the teacher had gotten angry with them, separated them, and told them that if they kept it up, they'd get detention. Wow -- I had no clue they even had such a thing as detention in third grade. They don't mess around these days!!

I was glad that Tanner opened up and told me what had happened. But I didn't think that he should get off the hook that easily! So, I asked him what he thought he should do about it. He decided to write Ms. G an apology note. It was his choice to write the note, and I thought it was a great idea! So, he did, and that was that. I haven't really thought about it since.

Well...today I was blog stalking. I just happened to come across Ms. G's blog on a sidebar of someone else's and started browsing through it. !! I've never even talked to her, but from what the kids have said and from the performances we've seen at the school, she seems like a fun, exciting music teacher! Well, you can imagine the look on my face when I found THIS --

Sorry, Ms. G. There actually was one other adult who knew about it. But hopefully Tanner learned a lesson from this experience -- even if it was only knowing that making gopher faces during music class is not cool.

Silly, silly kids

So, I walked outside the other day to check on the kids and this is what I saw...

Apparently, Braeley and Ashlyn had made these masks and were riding up and down the street wearing them. And I guess Tanner figured he wasn't too old or big to ride on the baby bike. Niiice. Wonder what the neighbors were thinking as they drove by. Hmm...

Preschool & Basketball

We've had these sitting around for awhile, and they FINALLY got scanned!! This was Tanner's first season playing basketball. He had SUCH a good time playing. He wasn't the star on the team, that's for sure -- but he LOVED it!

Ashlyn got these preschool pictures taken, and I had no idea they made them pose in all of these cute little ways. I guess I should have dressed her up or something! Oh well...at least she's not wearing her ballerina tutu (which she almost always refuses to take off). I still think she's a little cutie!

Today...

* I let Ashlyn & Lacey eat CHEETOS and POP-TARTS for lunch. I know, I know, I'm an awful mom. But hopefully my kids think I'm the coolest!!

* Cohen drank from a straw for the first time!! And yes, I gave him CHOCOLATE milk! #$%GASP!!%$#

* I made lots and lots of yummy jam!!

* I found two itty bitty little teeth on Cohen's bottom gum. My baby is growing up. *Sigh*

* The girls twirled around like wild in the backyard wearing only their ballerina outfits. They loved it!! My neighbors probably think I'm crazy.

Sunflowers and other randomness...

One morning last week, Paul came home and surprised me with a GORGEOUS bouquet of GIGANTIC sunflowers. They are so bright and cheery - I just LOVE them!! I love them so much that I planted some sunflower seeds in our backyard a few days later.

I never posted about Ashlyn's last day of preschool. (Or maybe I did and I've already forgotten.) Anyway - she made quite a few friends this year and had a great time!! Here she is on her last day.

We were supposed to have a family picnic, but because it was raining outside, we had to do it inside in the gym. They got out the big rainbow colored parachute and let the kids play under that for awhile.

Ashlyn and Rory Ellertson became pretty good little buddies this year.

Ashlyn with her teacher, Mrs. Amy.

This is Cohen's new favorite place to be. He is constantly crawling over to the long window that is next to the front door and just stares out of it (while trying to eat the blinds).

Seven Months

Our little (or not-so-little) Cohen is seven months today. My how time has flown! I love that he is getting so big, but my heart aches at the same time. Sometimes I just want time to slow down already! Here he is this afternoon, being silly in his bouncer.

Sweet Potatoes

Today I thought I'd try to see if a wooden spoon could hold up in my blender. The blade won. Here is the remnant of the spoon. I was blending sweet potatoes for Cohen and stuck it down in just a tad too far. Nice. I guess ground up wood chips might count as extra fiber in his diet. ??

Trip to Ouray

Over the Thanksgiving break, we took a little trip into the mountains to a cool town called, Ouray. It was oh-so-fun riding in the car with five kiddos, constantly asking, "Are we there yet??" Ouray is nicknamed 'Switzerland of America', and once we arrived we realized why. The mountains surrounding that town are absolutely gorgeous!! We loved it!

Cohen

OK...since I've been such a blogging slacker lately, I thought I'd better add some recent pictures of Cohen before he graduates from high school!! He's getting bigger so quickly and has become our little smiler / giggler. We just love him to pieces!

He's Here!!

Our little Cohen Jace arrived on August 24th! He weighed 6 lbs. 10 oz., and was 19" long. He's such a good little baby and we are so excited that he's finally here!! The kids all love him to death and spend lots of time holding and kissing on him. Papa and Gram Dwiggins came up to CO as soon as Cohen was born and spent about 4 days here with us. It was so nice having them here -- they were such a huge help and the kids had a blast with them!! (They always get spoiled when their papa and gram come for visits!!) Anyway, we're all doing good and enjoying life with a newborn in the house again! (You can click on any of the photos to enlarge them -- except, of course, the ones with me in them. heh)

On our way into the hospital!!

Rocky Point Days 3 & 4

Here are some more photos of the kiddos having fun in the sun. This batch includes some pictures of us eating out one night while we were there. We were all sitting at the table, eating our dinner, and we look over and Braeley had fallen asleep WHILE drinking her soda!! The kids played soo hard all day -- they were wiped out every night. It was just a crack up to see her sitting there asleep, with her straw sort-of hanging out of her mouth. There are also pictures of my clumsy brother (just kiddin'), Bryan, wiping out on the skim board -- successfully breaking his foot! Poor guy! He had to spend the rest of the week at the BEACH with a cast on his leg and hobbling around on crutches.
